Guinness names Russ Byars, (Franklin, PA) the new world record holder for stone skipping.

Russ Byars and a group of onlookers set out to break the world record for Ducks and Drakes (stone skips) on July 19th 2007.  The attempt was captured on high definition video cameras for the best possible slow motion replay. The attempt was also judged by PA stone skipping officials and professional competitors.

After careful analysis of the high-def video, it was determined that the stone skipped an amazing 51 times. This video was submitted to Guinness and was validated.

The previous record of 40 skips, was held by Kurt Steiner (Emporium, PA).
